    Default New Gun for sportshooting

    Hi All,
Need some advice and guidance please..
I'm in the market for 2nd gun to license under S16 for sports shooting.
I'm new to Sadpa ( just done NSO and classifier ) and will probably end up shooting Ipsc as well.
Have a gen 4 g19 under S13 currently for EDC, so EDC is not the motive.
    I can pick up a new G5 17 for R8.5k any reason I shouldn't take this versus a CZ75 01 shadow ?
or any other similar gun to the 2 above that I'm missing ?

    You should take the G17.

You bought the G19 with the understanding that you may be forced to shoot someone with it one day. If that happens you will be without a gun for an unspecified amount of time. In that case the 17 can be pressed into carry duty.

If you have g19 then I would go g17.
Mainly as trigger and operation between two is the same. Going g19 and a Shadow which is DA is completely different.

I EDC a 26 and have a 17 as a spare, but if you want to shoot a gun for pleasure, I'd get the Shadow instead.

The problem with a 34 in IPSC is that it isn't an approved Production Division gun, subsequently you'll end up shooting it in Standard Division while scoring minor. It will be harder to be competitive in the division against the guys that are shooting guns with much nicer triggers that are scoring major.

If you are vaguely serious about doing IPSC at some point, has to be the Shadow

    Order suggested: G17, G17, Shadow, G34

The Glock 17 is a bargain at the price you mention, with a shadow going at around 13K.
The G34 will be limiting in IPSC, though mags would still be compatible with your 19.
The 17 is a good middle ground for competition and only a bit larger then the 19.
The shadow falls truly in the dedicated sports gun category, with excellent performance in both IPSC & IDPA use.
