I know of more than one person who had their windscreen wipers ripped off by said angry "squeegie man"
Personally I look them in the eye and say no and wave them off, ideally you want to do this before they even get close to your car so they move on.
As has been said, give yourself a good car's length worth of space between you and the car in front so you can move if needs be

Big, realistic looking plastic snake on the dashboard, these guys and beggars disappear so fast it is as if they were never there.

You need to work on your "Resting Bitch Face". Once perfected beggars, car guards and other riff raff tend to just walk on by!

Remote controlled pepper spray mounted under the wheel well.

Have dreamed about it. Haven't tried it and don't plan to. Strongly recommend you don't do it, but if you do feel that way inclined, please share the videos.

That first looks like a real 38 or compact pistol is going to cause major shit.
If I walk toward you and you pull that and I think it's real and I shoot you...
I am sure the rules say firearm replica and firearm fall under the same rules in regards to pointing waving etc

This dude who wrote about his pepperspray, needs a high five, with a chair, to the face.

Get one for your wife and or daughter, it is super simple to operate and deadly!

Deadly? Really? Perhaps on the off chance the perp has asthma I suppose.

Hooting does not seem to work with these idiots and I fear threats of physical violence might get me in trouble with the law.

    Any advice?
They are slightly wary when it comes to males drivers. When it comes to female drivers they get very aggressive and intimidating when not paid. I have had my wife threatened luckily someone stopped and came to her assistance. A friends wife had her wiper snapped off when she would not open her window.
