School me on holsters
Hi Guys
Yesterday I bought myself n Glock 19 Gen 5 for EDC. Licence will be going in shortly. Although an avid hunter I am not so pistol savvy. The plan is to be going for some basic training early in the new year.
Can you guys give me one or two pointers on a holsters that work and most importantly on holsters that are just plain crap. There is a myriad on the market and I profess I am a bit overwhelmed here.
Kind regards

Re: School me on holsters
For EDC you should go for a IWB (inside the waistband) in with kydex or hybrid (leather and kydex). Look at Comptac Mtac, Geoff Carter, Daniels Holsters etc
For range use I would go for a kydex OWB (outside the waistband). Look at Geoff Carter, Daniels, Comptac
If you are tight on funds then stick to the IWB for now. You can go wrong with the Comptac Mtac. Get it from Hailstorm

Re: School me on holsters
Other than the ones pdh recommended, I can also highly recommend Quantum carry holsters.
Best thing will be to go Kydex or if you are a die hard leather fan, get a decent leather holster. Stay away from those crappy universal nylon holsters.

Re: School me on holsters
Leather is difficult. I work in hot strenuous areas so sweat a lot. After a while leather has a tendency to stink. So I would be weary for the smell.
Thanks for the input guys.

Re: School me on holsters
I have used a comp-tac MTAC Hybrid (kydex/leather) holster for something like 8 years, has never stunk.

What about the sticky holster LG-2? The perfect for conceal carry.

Sticky holsters move around, they don't stay put - that means your draw is inconsistent. Special purpose, maybe.
