Leupold Varminter Reticle
I fitted a Leupold VX3 4.5-14 scope with a Varminter reticle on my 8×57.
Zeroed the scope on 100 meters and 4.5 setting.
My question is: would the vartminter reticle point of impact differ on say 4.5 or 14 enlargement? Not the main cross, but say the second or third stripe? Will I have to learn the difference when on each enlargement or stick to one setting?

Re: Leupold Varminter Reticle
If you use a ballistic calculator like Strelok, you can see what the hold-overs are for each magnification. With a bit of playing, you will find a setting that gives you very useable hold-overs. Bear in mind that the recticle is intended to be used with a 200 m or yard zero.
You will of course have to verify and fine tune your calibration empirically.
This recticle is quite handy out to 500 m (or yards).
