Re: PMB farmer arrested after shooting at funeral
What a load of Kak. Borschot do you not edc? Every day carry, frikken everywhere. Farmers have to respond to things on their farm, even the funeral goers said they called the police but the police never arrived.
Don't drink the cool aid.

Re: PMB farmer arrested after shooting at funeral
It doesn't matter if his decision to stop the funeral was smart or not. According to the info available and the video he stopped people trespassing, wanted to stop an illegal funeral, was assaulted & threatened and then cornered. If this does not qualify for self-defense then I don't know what would qualify.

Re: PMB farmer arrested after shooting at funeral
This "illegal" funeral thing is happening more often than what you think. A farmer in Polokwane approached a rights group regarding an illegal burial on his farm. (It was illegal because he did not give his permission and there was no burial order handed to him - a legal requirement). He was told that there was nothing he could do, but lay a charge of trespassing against the funeral goers. There seems to be an inclination towards these wanton farm burials because of some loophole in the land claims process. Maybe someone with more info can butt in

Re: PMB farmer arrested after shooting at funeral
It is different on farms, but there are still processes and documentation. It is still illegal just to go bury a person on someone else's land without their permission, and without handing the landowner a burial order.

The idea that South Africa has an independent judiciary is laughable at best.

Re: PMB farmer arrested after shooting at funeral
"She ruled that Solomon could also destroy evidence if he was released on bail."
Evidence that has not been collected by the detectives in the last 20 days?
Evidence his wife could not have destroyed for him?
Very weak reasoning here
