That's a lot for a pistol that seems have severe teething problems. Now if Glock can bring out a similar magazine in a Glock 43/10, we'll have real competition and choice. I wonder whether SIG could have patented the magazine, seeing it's similar to H&K P7/13 magazines.

Glock has, it's called the Glock 26 :p
And yes, Sig apparently has patented the P365 mag design

IMHO, I think every firearm manufacturer who wants to compete in the CCW/Ultra CCW market will have to bring something new out or an improvement to compete.

Even though the stats prove encounters are approximately less than 6 shots, i am personally comfortable with 10 as a minimum.

That mindset of rather have more and dont need it, than need it and dont have it ; has been messing my head up since 2008.
