cost of shotshell reload

Started reloading in December last year using a Lee Load All 11:

load i used was 30grams 7.5 lead shot and 21.6grains somchem s121 powder.

Reload cost:
Wad R0.40
Primer R0.80
Shot R1.25
Powder R0.80

TOTAL R3.25 Per cartridge

Cost of new ammo was R1150/250 and you had to buy a case for that price.

Would we interested to know what your favourite dove load is.

I was getting a case of clever at 950

I was also paying R950 odd for a case. At that price, it isn't worth the schlep of reloading

If you dont make your own shot.
Its a bit expensive to load 12g.

At R1.25 for 30gr your paying R41.67.
If your lucky you could sometimes get lead at R10 and up to R15 kg. If you make friends with Scrap guys who dont worry about lead.

At R15 your 30gr will come down to R0-45.

Your primers at R80-00/100 is pricey.
As we bought bulk a year back at about R45-00. Which was the no name once in red and green holders. Sold in 600 quantities.
