Default SADPA/IDPA clubs close to Port Elizabeth

Is there any SADPA/IDPA clubs close to PE, my daughter is moving there this weekend to study, for the next 4-5 years. Trying to find a way for her too keep up her points for her dedicated status.

julian..We are pretty much IPSC country down here.

The PERPC [port elizabeth rifle and pistol club] has 12 league shoots a year as well as 5 or so steel shoots. We also do about 5 fun shoots such as big bore, hunting handgun ect. Then we also have our rifle and shotgun shoots.

There are also 2 hunting associations which organise various shoots as well as 2 clay pigeon clubs.

This is just to mention a few.

I am fairly heavily involved in most of the shooting disiplines.

If i can be of any help to you or your daughter please feel free to PM me and i will give you my number. We could also get together this weekend if you are coming down.[just not saturday afternoon as i am shooting a steel challenge]

Closest IDPA club is in George, too far away.

We have some top ranking IPSC shooters, and if I recall at least 6 people who have had national colors at some stage or another. These guys also put in some effort re training any willing members in various of the finer aspects of the game.

Port Elizabeth rifle and Pistol Club is on fbook too.

    Sure,no prob.
Here are are activities over the next month if it helps with any planning on your side.
    20 Jan...steel challenge
    27 Jan...IPSC rifle
    03 FEB...IPSC handgun league
    10 Feb...training
    17 Feb...H/gun
    24 Feb...Tactical shoot

As you can see there is no problem involved with getting in enough shoots to maintain ded.status.

For her participation to count towards DS, I think she will need to join SAPSA and the club/province. The shoots presented are IPSC oriented by the looks of it. Unless SADPA will accept and award points for participation in non-SADPA events towards DS status.Maybe consider NHSA as an option to maintain DS status as well.

Ps: A little dehumidifier from eg Solenco is a must for her safe down here at the coast.
