Finally doing my proficiency certificates tomorrow.

If all goes well I want to drop everything off afterwards at the DFO to get the competecy ball rolling too.

Anything I should know?

Stop and get your DFO requirements
They all vary and when my partner went she had to bring three people with for references and they had to write them in the DFO presence
My last one let me bring written refrences

Already went last week and picked up all the forms. The gave me 3 forms to be filled in for the refrences. Also gave me a checklist of things to bring with ,SAPS 517, ID copies, Passport photos, Proficiency, Motivation letter, 3X References, Proof of residence, R70 and of those I only need my proficiency's.

Not needed for competency applications.

And arrived with all docs in hand and where sent away to get three people to do character reference in person.
Luckily it was still first week of Jan and we had friends and family close by and on leave

Look, I am sure it will be a ballache but hopefully if proficiency goes OK then I would like to get everything in at the copshop ASAP.

Can't wait for all the hoop jumping to be done.

Yeah you have to do what the dfo says even if he/she is wrong, then you will be fine. Proficiency is easy you will pass try to phone once a week after you give your app in

I guess this is like asking how long is a piece of string but how long does competency etc take?
