Well done Paul. I read through the document, well put and comprehensive. Appreciate the hard work (you and the rest of the team).

    Well Done and thank you!!

I think I understand the whole thing a bit better now after reading the PDF.

I am a Silver member, but will try and make another contribution.

I have read most of the PDF, and I am still new to the firearm world, or the politics of it all.

Do I understand it correctly that if all goes to plan, not even including GFSA, that if the Re-Licensing gets dropped it will make all the other applications go much faster and be handled better.

Sorry if this is a total noob question, but a very basic understanding...

SAPS has finite resources. They have to handle new competencies, competency renewals (basically the same thing), new licences and renewals.

If they had only competencies and new licences then there is less work for them.

If they had only competencies and we can change the licencing process to a formality (registration) then there's even less work for them.

So yes, of course things will go faster.

Unless SAPS then redeploy everyone elsewhere to make sure the process takes longer. That we can't really control.

    IMO of course.

Correct! By an estimated 7.5 times but the actuaries will do proper projections as soon as the SAPS provides the core data.

Well, basically the SAPS would, eventually, be processing millions of licenses and competencies a year. There are not enough SAPS personnel to handle that and also do actual policing work.
