Allways nice to see T. Some of the farms we hunt on the stretch of country between Steytlerville and Adelaide have large numbers of Steenbokkies.

Some of them seem to believe that they become invisible when they flatten their, substantial, ears. Occasionally you see one standing motionless in the open with its ears flat against its head.

Beautiful animal! On the Bushveld Farm that I frequent, they have a nasty habit of waiting in the grass until you are nearly on top of them, then suddenly jumping away and running like hell!

Same thing use to happen in area we use to mountain bike in. Unfortunately, they have been decimated by the local poachers using dogs.

It puts it's ears down so that you cannot shoot it, seeing as the ears are a good indication of horn length.

On a serious note, they are so small and plentiful I wonder if there is a weekend that goes by where some are not killed by people going to town just on our main gravel road.
