Re: Just checking!
Thanks for all the inputs. I went and asked a few gunshops, I also mean to ask my DFO, but have not had the oppertunity. I get the impression this situation is similar to a dealer who cannot hand over a FA to you even after your license has been approved but you do not have the card in hand i.e. I cannot give my son the FA untill he can produce the card. The last time I sold an FA privately my DFO told me I must keep it untill the new owner has the card in hand. What makes it different in this situation is that my son would like to shoot the FA while waiting for his card and I am worried about what will happen if I am found with the FA in my possession on the way to the range. Even if my son or myself applies for a storage permit this will not solve the issue.

Re: Just checking!
To add to my previous post I see three options:
1. I apply for a storage permit. This covers me having it in my safe.
2. Book it in at a dealer. Seems a bitt over the top as his license has been approved and he is just waiting for his card.
3. My son applies for a storage permit and he keeps the FA in his safe untill he gets the card.
None of the above allows him to shoot the FA untill he gets the card.

Re: Just checking!
I m going to throw a cat amoungst the pigeons here: you take it to a dealer and book it in. They only reference the card. All a-ok You have it in your possession and get stopped by the police. They only reference the card. All a-ok. I know when I have been asked to present my license not once was any verification made.
If that is all it takes I’m surprised there is less fraud on this...Don’t take life too seriously, no one gets out alive.
