Just handed in my application for another rifle yesterday. Would I be correct in assuming that the average wait is now about 4 months?

So I'm only going to be able to collect from the GS at the end of November... The birthday present that become a Christmas present

    DFO: Sandton
    Approved: 4 September 2019 (SMS)
Printed and with DFO: 19 September 2019 (DFO called)

Seems to be working better these days from all the friends etc. who've been waiting on cards.

Licence approved on 15th of last month

According to the CFR, my card is lying at the provincial office (Durban) since 3rd of this month.

According to local DFO, there is only 1 person working at provincial office who has to sort out all the cards for over 260 stations in KZN, and, they have not received any notification regarding it being there

Just got the approval SMS, so that has been 3 months. Submitted through George DFO. Now I guess I wait for my card before I can collect from GS.

Of interest, my nephew submitted an application for a 303 in Midrand, a month before me, and is still waiting.

It saddens me that the slow approval process is having a negative effect on the economy with respect to movement of stock through gunshops, and cancelled hunts through lack of hunting rifles.

Would be nice if you get a nr on application. And they actually work in that number sequence. But its a gamble who gets your app. And when they complete it at CFR. So you apply before someone and sometimes get way after them approved.
