License cards... HOW LONG CAN THEY TAKE?

The DFO insisted that if he didn't receive an sms, he's card isn't at the DFO.

I'm not aware of ever having got an SMS re card collection.

Same story: wife received no sms. DFO office worker insisted that no sms = no card. Found the card in a box full of cards. There was a number written on the paper the card is attached to. This is supposedly the number that the sms was sent to. It was not any number that was familiar to us even though my wife had received sms's earlier in the licensing process.

Mate of mine from the cape just forwarded me a whatsapp from his dfo re cards ready for collection and 6 license printouts waiting. It's good to be reminded from time to time that there are good honest hard working cops in amongst the sea of slime.

Phoned the DFO this week to check if my cards arrived. She asked if I received sms, I said 'No sms, and any people have not been receiving sms lately'. She took my reference numbers & told me to call and after a few minutes.

I then call back and am told: "You can come & collect."

My license for shotgun was approved 3 Nov. Got sms for card on 6 Jan.

Being lenient and giving 2 weeks off for Christmas one can say 6 weeks ;-)

Approved 14 August, no card yet and I did visit the DFO.

Going on a year for license renewal card, been approved in Dec

DFO says I can't just phone in for them to check if its there, must physically appear

Meh, I'll cruise with the receipt until I actually have time to get there

Previous DFO, three weeks from submission to card in hand, also never had to renew competency because by sect 15 is still valid

Seems not all DFOs are equal in ability and knowledge of the very job they are employed to understand haha
