That said as T stated long guns you shoot shouldered on the dominant eye side, handguns dominant hand.

Im left handed, right eye dominant.

I was taught to shoot long guns left handed, with one eye closed... I retrained myself to shoot right handed both eyes open as much as possible. I will often even shoot both eyes open on higher powered scopes.
