    Default Tricky inheritance

    Good Morning

Please Advise whats the best to do

My grandfather gave me a revolver, .38 special

Before I completed the process to apply for license he passed away

The will does not say anything about the gun
He misplaced his wallet containing his gun licence and only had an affidavit stating he is the owner

How do I get this gun licensed?

    Regards

The executor of his estate can sign all documentation necessary for you to licence the firearm.

His executor should also be able to get a print out from the local designated firearms officer showing the licence.

Then you just follow the normal processes.

Condolences to you on the loss....

Firstly go to your nearest or preferred gun shop which they will assist..
Secondly get all paperwork in order...
    Thirdly - Good luck

    Condolences.

Similar issue some time back and I consulted my DFO.

She advised that in the case of deceased estates a time-limit of 2 years exists before anything associated with that ID is registered 'missing' and therefore unregistered or 'illegal'.

Ask the Executor to assist with documents and consider using someone like Damian Enslin from SAGA to help. Great guy to ask- but query his fees first.

    Best of luck.
