Stolen Glock 19 recovered
Good day,
My Glock 19 was stolen in a hijacking in September 2017 and recovered in March 2018, with the serial number obliterated. The police tell me they have to send the pistol to Pretoria to have the serial number engraved before they can hand it over to me. Does anyone know how this process goes and how long will it take to have my Glock back? I miss my G19 guys, please do advise.
Thanks Ricardo.

Re: Stolen Glock 19 recovered
Because engraving removes metal but a stamp the metal is still there

Re: Stolen Glock 19 recovered
It's not possible to know who a glock is registered to if it has no serial number.
How did the police know it's yours ?

Re: Stolen Glock 19 recovered
If serial is filed off, etching brings it out again. Thus they trace the serial number.

Re: Stolen Glock 19 recovered
I'm not sure I would really want my gun back, seeing as how some recovered firearms look...
