Re: Club charges R200 to renew SAPSA membership
We only pay yearly fee at club. Was +-R570. Think about same this year.
But then Ive also joined CTSASA as a Senior member. But get all my Endorsement, Good Standing Letters and Dedicated letters free irrespective of how many times I ask.
Also member of NHSA where I get Endorsement and Dedicated certificates free as I need them.
I use to belong to a hunting Org. Where you pay yearly fee and then have to pay for Endorsement or letter of goodstanding with them.
I stopped being a member due to this. As the letters are all just standard and they just paste your name on it. And charge R150-200 for this.

Re: Club charges R200 to renew SAPSA membership
I suggest you email your provincial chairman/Sabella for clarification. We pay
Club Fee – Our yearly club fee is only R540
Prov fee – R150 (NKZN) Some might be quite a lot more.
Sapsa – R750

Re: Club charges R200 to renew SAPSA membership
You need to:
a. Tell your club to go fuck themselves. This is moneymaking bullshit. Your SAPSA membership entitles you to free membership and endorsement letters.
b. Tell your Provincial Chairman to sort it out.
c. Failing that, join another club.
I'm pretty sure your club is the only club trying this.

Re: Club charges R200 to renew SAPSA membership
From Sebella
Hi David,
Sigh...thanks so much. Is this Gunsite FBook? Have not been on FBook today
at all...so piled under.
That is wrong! SAPSA fees are R750.00 and DS letters and Endorsements are
done free by SAPSA - part of the service!!
Someone making money out of SAPSA.
Drives me INSANE.
Thank you so much for letting me know.
You are welcome to advise as above. Will try and get to look just now.
Something Council needs to sort out..it is not fair to the members at all.
They then end up paying almost over R600 extra for SAPSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Club charges R200 to renew SAPSA membership
They told me that I can get DSS through them in one day by shooting targets with six different rifles at a cost of R3000 if I remember correctly. It didn’t sound ethical to me and I went the proper SAPSA route. They also do not disclose the fact that they add R200 to the SAPSA fees. They just give you the amount and tell you to pay without you knowing they add an extra R200- same for DSS & Endorsement letters.

Re: Club charges R200 to renew SAPSA membership
As a SAPSA shooter I actually take exception to that blatant abuse of the sport... I hope that the "club" gets the appropriate sanction...
