Glock 19 Gen 3 value?

Hi guys.

So with a heavy heart I'm selling my Glock 19 Gen3 to a friend, who has decided it is time to get a firearm for self defense. I don't really know what to ask him for it. I don't want to rip him off and just want to get a fair price.

I bought it new in 2005, and while I didn't keep count I would say the round count is somewhere between 5000 and (definitely below) 10000.

What would a fair price be to ask a good friend to pay for this gun?

R20,000. If he offers you less he is not a good friend.

R8000 gets him a brand new G19/3.

Yours has worked - maybe more than the average gun does.

Someone mentioned usually charging 50%-65% of the new price a while ago.

That gives you a starting price of R4000 which feels too little for a Glock.

Maybe R5000 or R6000, depending on your friendship and his financial capabilities.

I paid R6000 for a G17 Gen3 in really great condition with 4 mags last year.

Also factor in that your friend will have additional expenses for storage at a dealer whilst his license application is in process if you not keen to hang on to the firearm.

R6500 and throw in a holster and some mags so he at least has a starting point.

Offer to help him with the process and motivation etc

I recently got a new Glock 19 gen 3 for R6995. With 5 - 10000 rounds I would say you are looking at about
R5500 for the standard pistol. Add on 50 - 70% of the cost of accessories.
