No S&W on your list, why? I'm sure you could find a Sport II in your budget.

    Colt 6920.

The OEM one may well be in your budget.

Or a Colt expanse, which as I understand it is basically a 6920.

Expanse is not even close to a 6920. Loads of threads over on AR15.com on the differences.

I have it on good authority, from the only two current Colt armourers in the country, that since Colt started building them in house, they are very close.

I would take an expanse, for the money, over pretty much anything else in the price range.

Current (as in some of the last batch as well as the forthcoming batches) are more 6920 that not. To include barrels , receivers etc.

Hence why they have been discounted once current stock runs out.

I own a DM4 i urge you to buy something else, or calculate R3000 into the cost to fix certain issues with the base rifle.

On your list I would go with Ruger. Mainly as the importer of Ruger(or at least the one I know off). Guns n Bows is less then 15km from my house.
So backup is on hand for spares or anything I would need on the Ruger.
