Looking for a place to go shoot pistol close to me, found "The Shooting Range" on the innerweb (http://www.theshootingrange.co.za/), between Muldersdrift and Lion Park.

2 x 15 m and 1 x 30 m each allow four shooters to shoot simultaneously and caters for all calibres (the 30m range excludes shotguns.) The 30m range uses a virtual live fire simulator, allowing people to shoot live size moving targets and situations that they may encounter, simulating reality as close as possible
Looks interesting and they open 9am-9pm Mon to Sat.

Anyone with experience of this place?

Yea, I've shot there (theshootingrange.co.za) and it is a really interesting set up. It was supposed to be a spec-ops training centre and the Germans kitted it out with interactive simulations etc. Much, much more interesting than shooting at a static target.

Michelle is the guy in charge and he's pretty enthusiastic. I really enjoyed the session there and will definitely go back once I can find the time.

It's an interactive indoor, underground shooting range. You are basically firing at a movie screen that has moving targets - anything from balls to zombie simulations. It has got some sort of smart whiteboard type technology which records what you have hit. After finishing a magazine you go patch the holes in the screen. It is almost video game-ish but you are firing live rounds obviously.

I used it as part of a fun day, but if you want a more serious experience you should call him and see what he can set up for you.
