Re: Springbuck Hunt
Very nice Springbuck Wesley White.
Tells us some more about the day please. What set up are you shooting with there? Weight, distances, time of day etc.
Important for me is the temperatures - I'm going to Bedford area next month where there is no cold room.
Enjoy your venison!

Re: Springbuck Hunt
It was late in the afternoon prob hour before calling the day to a close and I spotted just the head through the long grass. The shooting sticks made to much noise setting up so I crawled to a nearby tree that I could rest the rifle against sitting. I would wait till the springbuck put his head down to graze and then crawl abit more. I got to the tree which was no more than 100m away. He was in long grass so I could only see his head and neck. I normally don’t shoot for the head or neck but in this case I had no choice. The springbuck ram fell on the shot. I used a Remington 700 308 Win with a Nosler 168g Ballistic Tip. The temp was cool and has been so over the past 4 days. You will not have a prob temp wise. It was extremely cold over night.
Enjoy your hunt and best of luck !
Regards
wesley
