May be he was heavily under influence of drugs and that he was not accountable for his actions. (The fact that he and his girlfriend were caught in possession of illegal substances) If so it would have been better to send him to a rehabilitation center and for psychological treatment and therefore unfit to stand trail. Also the fact that he inherit a big sum of money, why did he not get the best advocate to represent him, is another question.

You're missing plenty of points, man. He wasn't under the influence, or his defense would have played it. There were speculation, but never proof. Also, he didn't inherit a cent. SA's laws state that a criminal cannot profit from his crime, so he didn't get a cent from the inheritance, not to keep nor to spend on lawyers or anything else.

Maybe just that justice should be more equal for people of means?
