What do people do to slow their bolt velocity when using a suppressor?
I am getting brass ejecting at 1 o'clock and denting on the case walls.

Whats your barrel length and which suppressor are you using?

14.5 inch barrel. Mkonto AR QD suppressor

I'm by no means an expert on ARs but a heavier buffer will slow your bolt down, try an H2.

I've read about flat wire springs as well as heavier buffers as well as adjustable gas blocks. But I'm wondering what people generally do who have experience with this.

I use a H2 buffer and extra power spring. I've used both Wolff and Springco Blue. Haven't looked at the condition of the brass to be honest.

You could buy Wolff from Brownells. Nothing wrong with upgrading your extractor spring while you are about it. Wolff extra power ones are decent and a rubber insert is good to have.

Run a heavier buffer, it will retard the unlocking slightly but the best option is to get a Saima Stil suppressor from Hailstorm.

The SAIMA are pricey, but ingenious system.

Since you already have a suppressor the possible solutions are:
1) try an adjustable gas block with a heavier buffer - this will work if you constantly use the suppressor or re-adjust the gas block and/or the buffer when you are using a suppressor and when not.
2) try to import an adjustable bolt carrier that has been designed to switch for gas release when using a suppressor - (it will probably cost as much as a Saimaa Still suppressor).

Just changing to a heavier buffer is most probably not going to work effectively and that is why there are designs like adjustable bolt carriers and Saimaa Still suppressors.

The Saimaa Still has primarily been developed and designed to work with standard AR15 DI platform guns - and it really works and does the job required. It is also a true and real QD system so it is quick to change to suppressed and non suppressed use.
