Cost of a 2nd hand SxS 12G
Hi all,
Wifey wants a double barrel 12 gauge shotgun.
Strange I know...
Does anyone know of a shop or person that has one for sale?
My budget is R5000
What other things do I need to consider when looking at a SxS?
Can all old SxS use modern shells? I do see some real old ones pop up in classifieds once in a while.
Thanks for the input!

The most 2nd hands are Greener and Zimbala.
Any thoughts on those?

Make sure it's nitro proofed! I made an oopsie and now have to load black powder.

Hi Trayton,
That was one of the things I was unsure of.
Are there Nitro Proof marks on the barrels?

Perhaps keep an eye out for an old Brno. Willing to bet that they will be durable although pure speculation on my part.

Noost, what does she want to use it for and where are you located.
5k for a fair condition SbS is doable if you are willing to look. Should find some entry level AYA's Sauer's and old Brno's for that. Even pre 80's Baikal's will work, there are also some unnamed SbS's floating around the are referred to as Spanish guns - also not too bad. If you can get a Greener in good condition for 5k, that is in proof, take it.
Stay away from Zabala.
I would spend the money to have it inspected by a good/competent shotgunsmith before buying.
