Re: The Fake News Thread
I have to second what Adoons said. There is a large number of either out and out trolls or super-excitable tannies with purple hair on some groups that post outright bullshit. My GF had joined a new safety group the other day and I was alarmed to hear a message about how there were 3000 EFF members with pangas and petrol boombs in the middle of Brakpan invading land and how they were going to burn the town down at 12 am because the power was going to go out.
Luckily I asked on another, more trusted CPF group in the area whether they knew of this. Turns out there was a memorial for a poor CPF member that had passed away in town, and that's it.
People like the person that posted the initial bullshit should be prosecuted, or punished in some way, imho. Not only do they upset other people, but, one day when TSHTF for real, they're going to be ignored because "it's just fake news again."
We left that whatsapp group asap btw.

Re: The Fake News Thread
They have mastered the art of taking a person giving a speech and seamlessly being able to give the speech completely different words and therefor meaning do to software that alters the lips. How does one work that out to be fake news?

Re: The Fake News Thread
Considering that The Times are cr@p and people around this forum say do not trust news24, what news sources in South Africa are not fake news?

We must also be careful not to classify inconvenient truths as fake news.
