Avoid the pushfeed Remington if you can...

Re: Rifle choice for buffalo.
416 Remington with Winchester action.
You can load it down to do everything the .375 can do, or load it up to do anything a .458 can do.
Premium bullets cost very much the same for .416 as for .375.

Not to get involved in a caliber bash, but I also believe bigger is better and a sucker for classics.
But from another perspective:
I use my 404 Jeffery for basically everything. Shooting 400gr bullets at 2250fps with an Aimpoint Micro H1 on top.
Have shot many warthogs and bushpig with it. Took an excellent Nyala with it yesterday.
You will fall in love with the use of a bigger gun.
Although not classic, the 416 Ruger is a very sensible option.
Oh yes... and we bumped into 3 sleeping daghaboys yesterday at 15 steps which left for an unnerving situation, I however felt confident in my ability with my rifle to handle the situation should the need arise, just because I use it so much.
PS: Save yourself a lot of frustration and stay away from pushfeeds. Have seen the Remingtons in 375 jam up time and time again... Also: No DG gun should have a detachable magazine

Re: Rifle choice for buffalo.
For some-one who is going to do a once in a lifetime buffalo hunt where he is backed up by a competent experienced PH a 375 H&H is possibly the way to go. If as in your case you encounter buffalo regularly as part of your job it may be better to go for something bigger.
