    Default Weatherby Mark V worth?

I have a Weatherby Mark V 30-06 rifle with 80 rounds through the barrel.

It has a Leopold VX-II scope.

Thinking of selling it in the near future to fund another rifle.

    Looks exactly like this one:

At the moment everything is measured against the Howa rifles prices

I see S&O have some MkV rifles on their website. That may be a starting point.

Hi all, sorry to revive this thread.

Selling this rifle has become a priority for me now as it is just lyng in the safe.

Pretty sure it is a Lightweight, chambered in 30-06.

I had look at S&O site but the prices are all over the show.

Would 40k be a reasonable price be for the rifle?

Still has about 80 rounds through the barrel with a leopold vx-II scope on it.

Here is a picture of the rifle.

The Weatherby's have never been cheap and it seems the cheapest wooden stocked Mk V sells in the region of 1800$. That model of yours is listed at 2300$. That would make a price of about R34 000 new in USA. Then your suggested 40K is a good ballpark figure. I doubt that you will have buyers falling over their feet to buy it.

The Mk V action is however a very strong and reliable action.

    Thanks for the advice.

So would a figure of R30K be more reasonable? Includes the scope, bi-pod and 200 rounds of factory ammo.

Sounds like a good deal! As driepoot mentioned, you wil have to wait for the right buyer.

I sold a high end hunting rifle last year (Sauer 202) and waited a couple of months for a buyer to come along.
