I guess if we go down the same route we will have to choose whether to take it, like the Venezuelans’ or whether we will rise up. The socialists used democracy to come into power and now there is no democracy (and an economy) left in Venezuela.

There isn't much left to discuss, they will do as they see fit for their own self preservation...
So, your choices are very simple, either to leave or to be prepared as best you can.

there never was any democracy in South Africa, even the elections in 1994, was a negotiated hand-over

Look though, at how it started. Initially it was only this or that land.....but slowly, further bad decision and policy exacerbated the situation from bad to worse to critical.
Given the lack of intelligence, on a grand scale, of many in the current South African government and its policy makers, coupled with a Communist belief structure........it could get very bad. It’s already very bad actually.......and can only get worse.

I think there's a lot more going on than we realize. President Ramaphosa is himself a farmer, game owner and businessman who is now a politician in a tough spot. I think we can expect token land reform but nothing on the scale of the commies from South Amerika
Besides if he's a shrewd businessman most of his assets would be spirited offshore anyway. The rules don't apply to the ANC elite and they certainly will not experience the land expropriation disaster like the common man would.

The Venezuelan land reform also started with sensible ideas. The goal was to expropriate idle "latifundios" , basically large properties that the rich owners do no really use. The argument was that just 7% of the population owned most of the land. When they introduced the legislation the government found out they could not find any idle latifundios because all of them were used commercially. So they amended to reduce the size from 400 H to 100 H as the benchmark. Still no success so they introduced the clause that a farm would be idle if it had less than one cow per hectar. Again the farmer adapted and increased the number of cows. In desperation Chavez introduced an ecological legislation stating that farms that are abused and destroy the soil can be expropriated. The benchmark they used was 2 or more cows per hectar. Commies can be very creative when it comes to stealing.
