Default Dedicated Hunter, shooter status required?

    Good morning

    Need some guidance

I am starting the whole process of applying for a long rifle and got n confusing start

In the learning material it stated

For Occasional hunting or Target shooting you are not part of a hunting/shooting org or club.

But, as per the SAPS website, If applying under SEC 15 for occasional Hunter/ Shooter,
they require the info of the club/ org you are part of??

so the question, i'm buying a .223 for occasional use, is it necessary to still have a dedicated status ?

or whats the way forward getting this rifle licensed

    Regards

Dedicated status and belonging to a club are two different things

Advice would be to join a club if licensing under sec 15 and get a letter from them saying you are a member

It has become the norm and another thing that has happened as a result of everyone doing it

Join NHSA and become dedicated through them. Cheapest easiest.

Rather register as a dedicated shooter instead of a dedicated hunter. It allows you more options.
