    Default Bullets on a plane

    Hi all
Is it legal for me to bring back a few (5 or so) boxes of Sierra bullets when I visit the States in October?

Probably not illegal, but you might get some issues with regards to importing gun-related "parts", for which you need certain permits as far as I know.

I believe if you fly through Dubai (or Emirates in general) you will have a negative travel experience.

Speaking of latex, is my green card still valid?

those guys are so paranoid they confiscated my disassembled compound bow from my locked bag which was marked "Firearm" by the friendly luggage staff! I did get it back though. Check with the airline before you fly with lead and copper "pellets".

I can't speak for bullets, but to the USA & back via Dubai on Emirates and didn't have any issues and I brought back a couple firearm related items (ITAR legal) in my luggage.

On the way back we had a delay that Emirates changed our flight so we first flew to Italy, landed sat there for an hour before flying to Dubai then home... no issues at all.

They did ask my wife to step aside on the way there while boarding in Dubai to get swapped & all that jazz... she doesn't shoot or anything like that.

    Take it as my 2c.

    Hi Webster
My wife brought me back a box of Nosler Partition last year with no problems, however it was a direct flight on Delta, and her luggage was opened and inspected by the TSA, compliments of a letter they left in the luggage. When you do buy them don't open the box and leave all proof of purchase in the store branded package ( Bass Pro, Cabellas, Gander Moutain etc).
I cannot speak for the Mid East, they may be a little pedantic.

    Good luck

Biggest problem is getting it out on that side, as it's on the ITAR list(as is most of the cool stuff you want to buy over there)

Category III, Ammunition/Ordinance- (1) The components, parts, accessories and attachments controlled in this category include, but are not limited to: cartridge cases, powder bags, bullets, jackets, cores, shells (excluding shotgun shells) projectiles, boosters, firing components therefore primers, and other detonating devices for the defense articles controlled in this category
