Default Green Hills of Africa - Ernest Hemingway

Bought this recently at a 2nd-hand bookshop. It is an excellent read. Judging by the style of writing, Ruark was heavily influenced by this for Use Enough Gun and Horn of the Hunter. The cast is similar (especially the somewhat enigmatic, larger-than-life professional hunter), as are the inter-character dynamics.

It's a short read, but with high "content density". He may write long sentences, but there are no unnecessary words.

And towards the end of the book you'll want to shoot Garrick too.

I read Green Hills of Africa while still in school and again about a year ago, they did things somewhat differently back then. I enjoyed it, as I did the Old Man and the Sea and For Whom the Bell Tolls. Some of the other books by Hemingway I found really difficult to read.
