Re: Got my Galil
The only difficult part of NFA is waiting for the paperwork to get approved.

Re: Got my Galil
Luis, give us a report on it after you’ve had a chance to shoot it a bit.

Re: Got my Galil
Suppressors seem to be more popular than ever. I don't ge the impression that they are especially expensive to get, although you can certainly spend a lot just like with guns. Te tax on them is 200, though.
Aside from Federal laws sometimes you have to deal with State laws. My State restricts them heavily. You have to have a special permit that only certain kinds of dealers can get or be grandfathered (although such folks are rather aged at this point). There was a bill recently to allow for certain officials and law enforcement officers to be able to get them, but I don't recall if it passed.
Other States may have less restrictions than the Feds or no restrictions at all, although one must still comply with the Federal laws. There is a lot of variation by State.
From what I've heard the worst and most burdensome part of acquisition is the wait that ATF likes to impose, which can make it take months or longer for the transfer to get approved.
