S15 v S16 for snubnose .38
Hi,
I just bought a .38 snubbie for fun because I like wheelguns. It'll just be used for some range fun. Possibly backup EDC if my S13 gun is out of commission.
I have DSS with NHSA.
Currently:
S13 - 9mmP
S16 - 9mmP and .22lr pistol
Is there any reason to license the snubbie under S15 v S16 or vice versa? I may get a bigger revolver in the future, probably a .357.
Your input is appreciated!

I currently have all my firearms as S16.
Cant see the need for any other type since Ive got DSS now for years.

I keep a backup gun of my SD under S15. Also like wheel guns and licensed my .38 under S16. I shoot it under the 5m Snubby Target and Exercise for the NHSA.

For practical purposes it does not make a difference.

Re: S15 v S16 for snubnose .38
I licenced a 2" .38 snubby for DSS. NHSA has some suitable shooting disciplines for them.
Don't know why but I really like snub's, maybe because the first real handgun I shot was my Dad's Rossi. When Loaded with 148gr Full Wadcutters, that thing is really accurate! A big ragged hole in the target is possible t 10m...

Re: S15 v S16 for snubnose .38
I have noticed that once I got DSS, and motivated for a firearm under S15 (and applied under S15), that when the license was granted it was a S16, it happened with 2 firearms that are family heirlooms, that I specifically wanted on S15 just in case a day comes when I no longer have DSS.
Was kinda irksome, but I never took it up with CFR.

I have heard of that happening to others as well. Fortunately, I applied for Section 15 before getting DSS status. I would still like to fill my 2 other S15 slots one day though. Guess it will be a gamble
