    I have used similar systems like this and found that it works well if you have line of sight and are not close to power lines etc that can create electrical interference.

    That is true. mine also had interference under power lines. But luckily my shooting lane is not close enough for interference. The linear antennas are directional and you just point them towards each other.

    My little spoeg-and-plak target cam is not nearly as robust and proper as yours.

    I was thinking, would a little 10litre Jerry can not be a viable alternative to a .50cal ammo box? It would add R250 to your cost though.
