.357 Mag or .44Mag- Astra or Taurus or colt

So if you had a grand to blow on either a .357 Mag Astra or a .357 Mag Taurus or a .357 Mag Colt lawman or a .44 Mag Astra which would you buy?

Reason for buying: cause I can and have always wanted a larger calibre rollie.

Yes yes I know I should spend more and get a Ruger or S&W, but your comments on the above 4 options please.

The astras and the taurus have adjustable sights, the Colt doesnt.

out of those Colt hands down.... would not go Astra or Taurus as they are not pedigree, try selling those three, of the three you will most certainly get nothing for the Astra and Taurus, but the Colt could fetch a handsome price tot he right person, it is the only one worth collecting in that trio...

What do you want to do with it?

The Colt doesn't have adjustable sights. That limits you. OK, you have a Colt, very good... but you end up shooting 38 Specials in it in IDPA 'cos that's all it's useful for, except for looking at... not so good as an intro into large bore revolvers.

There's only one 44 mag on your list, so if you have a yearning for the 44, there you go. Me, I'm not particularly impressed by the 44 mag, so... I'd go with a 357 any day.

So then, assuming you want adjustable sights and a 357, you're down to two. I have a 3" Taurus and a few Astras. If both the Taurus and the Astra has the same barrel length, go with the Taurus. Otherwise, maybe go with the longer barrel.

Yes, a Colt is... a Colt... but the Lawman, fixed sights, notsomuch. IMO of course.
