Default .22 LR Mauser not functioning properly

Misfires 60% of the time, does not always extract te casings. Local Gunsmith can't find parts. Would hate to just give it to saps to destroy. Would anyone need it for parts?

    Hi Welcome.
Please go and introduce yourself as per forum rules.

I am following this post. I have a .22 Mauser that had a broken extractor. I saent it to a gunsmith recommended by more than one me member. For some reason he attempted to make a new firing pin and it came back worse than when it went in.

I have introduced myself as per forum rules a few months ago. So is there any value in this rifle? Strip it for spares?

.22 Mauser's are highly sought after. It will be a good if you can repair it. Someone can possibly make a new firing pin.
BBCT is quite knowledgeable about .22 Mauser's he may be able to give input

    Please don't destroy it!

Parts can be sourced in the US if necessary.

Which remedies have you tried until now? .22's which don't extract usually have either dirty chambers, or weak springs and/or faulty extractors.

Not firing can be either a blunt or broken firing pin, or a dirty firing pin hole, or a weak/broken firing pin spring.

Try to get in touch with paaa - they should have knowledgeable folks.

Destroy should be out of the question.
I once had a problem with a faulty extractor on my .22 mauser.
Gunsmith had a new part made, by Thor engineering, and installed it.
He made it sound like run of the mill stuff.

Thank you. Have asked Willie for some help. Had it at one Gunsmith for over a year trying to sort. Then took to another...who was supposed to be the expert. Both said it was a lost cause. Hope not.

Hello Hein. Will definitely sell if it can't be sorted easily.
