@CK, have you shot with that particular AR?

@pdh, I really REALLY want to, the S&W felt so good in my hands, even holding the bushmaster after, I could tell that there was a difference in quality. it's just the fact that it has a high gas block and that stupid milspec handguard. so getting it for R19100 and then having to pay x amount for the gas block and x amount for the handrail could put me way out of my budget where I could have gotten something way better in any case?
Why don't you phone around and see who has stock of the S&W M&P sport 1

I'll Call NSN tomorrow regarding the sport 2. thank you for bringing the special to my attention. Is it the normal sport 2 with the A2 front sight or the optic ready one.

The sport 1 to my knowledge doesn't have forward assist or a dust cover and thats a deal breaker for me.

Why is forward assist a requirement?

Never had a issue with mine. Remember the forward assist will not assist with removing a stuck round. It may even make the problem worse.

The forward assist is to help you take a round home when it's a bit stuck, and you are in a battle.
If it gets stuck on the range, then you don't need to ram it home, you can take some time and see what's causing the problem in the first place
