Revolver Piccatiny rail
I have searched the forum far and wide and the internet, but get no answer.
Any idea where I can get a piccatiny rail to fit on a Taurus 689? Those that fit in the rear sight slot? The rear sight is loose and I am planning to put a reflex sight on it, but cannot seem to get a way of mounting it sorted. Any other ideas?
Or where can I get a rear sight? Or scope mounts?
PS - The Taurus is not my SD gun. I just enjoy a bit of revolver shooting occasionally and had the Taurus coming my way for peanuts.

Maybe get a gunsmith to attach a steel base plate onto the top of the revolver infornt of the rear sights. Then you can at least attach the red dot to this mount and take it off as you please.
My dad got metal red dot mounts from the states but it was quite a mission.

The Taurus OEM rail mounts to the vent slots above the barrel. You might have to source one from the US, as the local agents are definitley not interested.

Google "Taurus 689 scope bases" and look under images. Taurusarmed.net gives a few pictures and sketches of mounts. Most mount on the barrel ribs. You might have to get someone with a milling shop if you want to use the back sights' rails.
