Slide issues with my Shadow
I've got the cz sp-01 shadow and regularly clean it after shoots. I now find that when I do a mag change and insert the mag with a just a little bit of force, the slide releases and chamber the first round.
Did I posibly damage something that will cause this? Otherwise the gun is performing flawlessly.
Help will be appreciated.

Re: Slide issues with my Shadow
I have exactly the same with my Shadow 1. Particularly when it has just been cleaned and oiled. By hitting the magazine in when doing a mag change, the slide release is disengaged. This also happens on my Glock 19 after it had a few thousand rounds through it and it loosened up.
I don't see it as a problem as it speeds up the process when doing a magazine change...

This is touted as a "feature" in many modern pistols

Re: Slide issues with my Shadow
Good news. Thanx for the reply. Who would have thought you can take to much care of your gun?
I'll use a little less oil on the slide release in the future then.

Re: Slide issues with my Shadow
Agreed. My p30 has done this since day 1 with enough magazine seating impetus, I find it's not nessesary to ram the mag home that hard and prefer to manually drop the slide stop or slingshot the slide. Never had a failure to chamber with the "auto drop" scenario though.
It is pretty common though, I wouldn't stress about it.

Re: Slide issues with my Shadow
Dont over oil. Oil it and wipe excess off.
Leaving a thin layer.
Oil inside barrel when you fire is not a good thing. So over oiling the parts before chamber you have to take care that this oil can not find away into barrel.

Re: Slide issues with my Shadow
You bumping the slide stop as you seat the mag. Awesome when it happens and you not expecting it. Less so when you expect it and it doesn’t happen

And you don’t need to clean your gun after every shoot
