License Renewals
Hi Guys
A member from our shooting club sent me a message this morning saying that he went in to hand a renewal application in CPT and the DFO stated that CFR are refusing any renewals if you have more than 3 firearms.
My first comment is that I have always known renewals to be completed at Provincial level and not at CFR.
I have seen a lot of blanket refusals of recent but majority being on semis and some new applications. I think this is just another case of the DFO making things up. Well I hope so.
Anyone else heard this ?
Have a good weekend
Regards
Wesley

Re: License Renewals
First ive heard of it. I recently renewed my 308. Only expires December. Or would have.
But I gave in renewal April or May. Thought rather early and loose a month then wait for 90 days and miss it.
And it was renewed at Provincial not CFR.
Was in about 3 week. Just card took while.
I have 13 licensed currently all on S16. So not sure about 3 rule.

Re: License Renewals
Wesley - you talking about Parow Police station?
I went there on Monday to get a print out of my compentecy certificate so I can start getting my next/new application ready.
Knowing the issues going on - I innocently ask how smooth the process is going for new applications.
The answer, save your money because the F.A is changing and they (CFR) are not granting licenses.
I question a bit more and they (DFO) show me a stack of RENEWALS that have come back all declined, reason is roughly - you don't need 3 rifles for hunting (oke had a self defense and 3 hunting rifles). Even the Parow DFO seemed surprised.
Will this stop my new application - HELL NO. I'm now more determined and will just be more thorough with my paperwork/motivations.
To be fair & honest.
The DFO staff at Parow are very friendly & very efficient.

Re: License Renewals
Evening All,
Did a section 13 renewal on 06/09/18 Which was more then 90 days before expiration date on license.. license has since expired on 07/02/19. I’m still carrying EDC daily. Is this ok?
Anyone else having the same issue with renewal taking this long to process.
