DIY Barrel Cooler.
Low tech, simple and maybe unnecessary. This was my first attempt. I made it in March and have used it a few times, including today on the range. The barrel on my 303 gets hot after only a few shots and POI changes. I have too wait a long time for the barrel to cool.I don't have the right type of Thermometer to see if there are any real improved cooling. It 'Feels' cooler after a few minutes.
Anyhow, it is two 12v Fans from an old Server HDD case and a piece of mesh from a CPU powersupply case. The blue plastic part is a Old Hamster water hopper and the aluminum pipe is from an old Brake line. All held together with bolts and nuts. Crocodile clips and a 12v Battery.

Re: DIY Barrel Cooler.
The POI change may be due to the supressor heating up and the mirage rising from it's surface may be distoring your line of sight.
Whatever the cause, your gadget will cool both the barrel and supressor faster than normal, getting you going again faster.

Re: DIY Barrel Cooler.
That’s an awesome idea, and I bet it works better than the commercial one.

Ha ha. Thanks. Not sure, I have seen the commercial ones at the Gunshops. The wind generated by one fan was ineffective, thus I placed two fans inline.

Re: DIY Barrel Cooler.
Ive bought one of those Yellow coolers at S &O to cool barrel.
And then some USB fans at China Town for R50 to R60.
They blow on outside. And are compact. Even have their own recharge batteries in. That last about 10min at full.
Run them off a normal battery Pack for Cellphones.
