    Default ITAR & Spotting Scopes

I can't find anything concrete.. Although Niteforce's site says it's ITAR, I don't find that anywhere else... unless my Google-Fu is weak like decaff coffee.

    Anyone that knows concretely?

Spotting scopes might be an ITAR grey area as they are also used for birdwatching, scopes with reticles and marketed as tactical may be an issue.

Years ago before i knew better bla bla. I ordered few scopes and a spotting scope the US. When the parcel arrived and i paid vat and duties on the entire amount, i opened the box to find a letter from Homeland security. They kindly removed the scopes, but left the spotting scope.

Schoot fees paid, as that spotting scope lasted 2 outings then broke. It was returnable for a full warranty.

Just buy local and save hassels.

I got a very sweet deal on a used but excellent condition Kowa spotting scope from a birdwatcher that was emigrating, but ja buying local would be easier.
