Re: Hawks seize firearms from security companies
Can somebody please explain how to make a revolver or a shotgun a prohibited firearm??
"uncovered three prohibited firearms. The two special revolvers and one shotgun were allegedly found at a security company operating in Crosby Johannesburg."
As far as I remember selective or full auto guns plus cannons are considered prohibited. Maybe file off the barrel number, this is the only thing I can think of.
Sounds like the security company has a winning case.

Re: Hawks seize firearms from security companies
It seems to be more of a licencing problem than actual prohibited firearms. Just the way it is worded, special I imagine would be something like a .38 special, so a few inaccuracies thrown in by sloppy reporting.
You can make it prohibited by letting the licence lapse for example, but again wording in the reporting seems to be problematic.
