    I do not know as a South African what the implications would be to use a forearm in self defense in Tanzania. Think it will be a rather sticky situation to get into. Apart from Botswana and South Africa I do not trust any other African countries legal system enough to get into such a situation there.

    Having worked in East Africa for many years, not as security, but my real occupation, the laws generally favour the victim of crime. Without elaborating on my experiences, the courts are very harsh on criminals in general. Security guards are commonly armed with SLR's and 20 litres of stolen diesel was enough to get a criminal killed if they were to flee.
    I was last there in 2011, things may have changed, but in my time that is the way it was.
