Not from Steel Challenge. I stand to be corrected though. As for range fee, everyone is supposed to pay - saw that in the range rules sometime back. Don't think it's always enforced though. R50 IIRC

I once ( while waiting for my card ) asked the officers at Cecil payne to go watch the clubshoots and they were ok with me not paying... probably depends on who is on duty too, just feels a bit awkward walking around looking and not shooting along.

No dude. Bring your gun, mags, holster and lots of ammo, and join in. It is really informal and chilled. There are a lot of new guys every month. Just rock up and join a squad. Everyone is really laid back.

Most of the guys I have met here are from going to watch.I have watched a few steel, a dozen IDPA,a handful of ipsc even some psd and that one handed stuff they do at Alberton shooting range. Now I regularly shoot steel and will shoot my first idpa in a week.It took me 2 years to join idpa cause I kept going to watch... I would take advice from the go shoot thread T started. And I believe if you going to start something steel is the easiest... it's the most rounds as its 200 minimum essentially you stand still draw and shoot.

Shot 4 stages of Steel challenge this morning. Great fun! As mentioned above: take your gear and get stuck in.

    Anytime from 7:00

Most people start shooting between 7:30 and 8:30 I guess
