This is probably a function of the remaining chaos that reigns there. As such, it is clear proof of non - compliance by the SAPS of its functions as expressly set out in the FCA, i.e. to see to an effective system. After 15 years, there can't be more excuses or a reason for them not to be held criminally accountable for this.

How many SA passports do you carry?
And the renewal cycle remains 10years regardless.
Now add in how many different licenses you can have, and factor in that one license can be renewed twice in that cycle.
Not justifying their incompetence, just stating a fact.
When the WC printers were "working", we got our cards within a weekof approval.

Also take into consideration the sheer volume of passports compared to firearm licenses

WC FLASH are renowned for making up their own rules. For example they won't accept a S15 application unless you're a member of shooting club/range, no where in the FCA or its regulations does it specify this requirement.
