Dealer question
Hi Guys
I just got my licence card yesterday 10 jan 18. The dealer wants to charge me R1500 extra to collect my firearm because i took almost 4 months from start of application till collection of card. Its a new gun that was paid in full.
Is he trying to rip me off or is this legit?
Thanks.

Re: Dealer question
Absolute rip off.
Even if he was charging you storage fees, which generally doesn't happen if you buy the gun from the dealer, storage fees shouldn't be more than R150 a month.

Re: Dealer question
All the dealers I bought from gave me 4 months storage included. Only start paying minimal storage fees if it takes longer than that.
It's his shop, but I think it's a ripoff.

Re: Dealer question
Was this in the documents that you signed when you purchased the FA? I know that the dealer I bought from I have 12 months free and thereafter I pay monthly storage.

Re: Dealer question
Which store is charging you that much?! They're taking the piss! So from time of application which I'm assuming was pretty close to time of purchase to time of collection of card (4 months) they're charging storage???

Re: Dealer question
My wife’s firearm was in the shop for 2 years, they never said a word. That shop try to pull a fast one on you. Tell him to take a hike!

Re: Dealer question
I was also given 12 months free, then about R150/month thereafter.
Read the agreement you signed.
