Its not a random thing, it has been engineered to be this way since the 1920's. Research the Frankfurt School of Critical Theory, Max Horkheimer, Herbert Marcuse, Theodore Adorno, et al. What their mission was and what effect they had upon American universities after being booted out of Germany in the 30's and migrating en mass to the US university system.
What was their raison d' etre following the failed attempts in the 20's to influence the German workers into a repeat of the Bolshevik 1917 October Coup d' etat of Russia and the resultant rivers of blood. (Spartacus League revolutions - Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemborg.)

Also look at how Betty Freiden the "mother of feminism" was heavily influenced by the Frankfurt school showing how feminism was never about women's rights but had everything to do with undermining western christian culture.
