    Default Which silencer for .243?

After seeing a silenced .243 in action I have decided that mine also needs a silencer. Now there are quite a few guys manufacturing silencers. I am interested in the reflex-type which slides back over your barrel for about half of the length, thus reducing overall length. I have spoken to the guys at ARMS, they manufacture a range of silencers. Can anyone comment on their products or reccomend someone else in the Gauteng area?

If you are serious about the issue the answer is Ase Utra Northstar.

I posted a while ago about them somewhere on the forum. There is a guy from Ase also on the forum if you want to ask technical questions.

If ypu are in the Pta/Jhb area get Danie Joubert top do the threading of the barrel - he has doen a lot of them for the AU's

Don`t be shocked at the price though. I wanted to put one on my 308 and they charged me over R4000.
So I decided to put on a TERMINATOR for +- R1000.
I am not disapointed at all. The recoill is at least 50% less and it is very quite.

BUT it does make the barrel a bit heavy in the front. But its nothing I cannot handle.

This is my group at 100m after fitting the silencer:

And this is my 8yr old`s group:

    Here he is in action!!!

Just make sure you get a proper person to cut the thread on your barrel.

The AU Northstar reflex type is definately not more than 4k - afaik it's around 3.2 -3.5k.

It is military quality and will last you a life time.

I personally phoned two weeks ago and asked for the AU Northstar reflex, I was told +-R4000. But they had to order new stock first.

But anyway, kaspaas must phone for himself and get a price. I just say what I was told.

Thanks for the advice so far. I read the posts on the AU Northstar. The Terminator sounds good too, especially at the price.
